The VYC Cobra Men tip-off their postseason campaign at home this Sunday when they take on the Dandenong Rangers as part of a huge weekend of hoops action at Kilsyth.

vyc-final-poster1The Cobras enter the postseason tied for the league’s second best record at a 15-7. Possessing a potent offence that averages 82.5ppg, the Cobras are led by the dynamic trio of Mitch Dielemans (21.4ppg/3.9apg), Jamie Ahale (18.7ppg/8.0rpg) and Jorden Adnam (17.6ppg/5.8rpg/3.1apg), with all three amongst the top ten scorers in the league during the regular season. Anchoring Kilsyth’s defence is the versatile Ben Ursich (11.4ppg/8.4rpg/2.6spg), while big man Zac Wuersching (6.3ppg/5.8rpg) rounds out a strong starting unit for the Cobras, who are aiming for their second championship in the past three years.

Dandenong enters with a 13-9 record and boasts the league’s stingiest defence, allowing just 62.0ppg during the regular season. Although their offence is not as explosive as the Cobras up-tempo attack, the Rangers have found success this year with their air-tight defence. This clash of styles is sure to make for an intriguing matchup, with the winner moving on to next week’s Preliminary Finals, while one team’s season will come to an end.

Sunday’s game is FREE for all fans to attend, so come on down and help keep the Cobras season alive! Tip-off is scheduled for 2.30pm, with the NWBL Cobra Men opening the day at 12.00pm as they host Wollongong in wheelchair basketball action.
