Five RMA Kilsyth Junior Cobras teams have made the cut for the 2019 National Junior Classic Tournament to be held over the Queens Birthday long weekend, with the Under 12-1 Boys and Girls, U14-1 Boys and Girls, and U18-1 Boys set to take on Australia’s top club teams over the long weekend.
The National Junior Classic is an invite-only tournament featuring 16 of Australia’s best boys and girls teams from the Under 12, 14, 16, and 18 age groups. The top eight Victorian teams from the MUVJBL’s Victorian Championship (VC) division are selected to compete in the tournament, with the remaining eight invitations taken by interstate teams – predominantly from New South Wales, South Australia and the ACT. The Victorian invites were decided after Round 9 of the VJBL season, with the top four teams from each VC pool making the cut.
TheUnder 12 Boys and Girls, and Under 14 Boys and Girls will take on the nations best at Dandenong Basketball Stadium – with games tipping-off on Saturday morning – while the Under 18 Boys tournament will be held at the State Basketball Centre .
