Former Kilsyth All-SEABL forward Jasmine Gill has signed with the Lady Cobras for the 2018 season.

Gill will return to Kilsyth after spending the 2017 season with the Sandringham Sabres, where she paced the team in rebounding (6.8rpg) and finished second in scoring (19.9ppg) and assists (2.8apg). Her first SEABL season in 2016 was just as impressive, when Gill helped lead the Lady Cobras to the National Championship game and earning All-SEABL Team honours in the process.

A lights out scorer capable of scoring from inside and out, the ultra-athletic Gill gives Kilsyth a versatile offensive and rebounding presence, much to the delight of Lady Cobras coach Sam Woosnam.

“We are very happy to once again have Jasmine back on the team,” Woosnam said.

“She had a great season for us in 2016 and was a key to our success in winning the Conference Championship. Jasmine is currently playing in the strong Italian league which will no doubt improve her game even more, and we look forward to her joining us after her European commitments have finished.”

Gill is excited to play under Woosnam and assistant coach Tony Smyth once again, where she flourished as a player during her first season in Australia.

“I am extremely happy to be back playing for Kilsyth, and to be coached again by Sam and Tony is very exciting for me,” Gill said.

“My first season at Kilsyth was one of my best of my career, and the overall goal for the season ahead is to try to win a championship.”

Gill is currently playing with Fixi Piramis Torino in the Italian Serie A1 league, and will join the Lady Cobras at the completion of the Italian season in early 2018.
