Swinburne Kilsyth Cobras forward Auryn Macmillan will hit Hugh McMenamin Court Tuesday night in a new uniform as he suits up to play with the Melbourne Tigers in their pre-season game against the Washington State University Cougars.

The Tigers will tip off against the Washington State Cougars at 7:30pm and Macmillan joins the roster by special invitation from Tigers’ Coach Chris Anstey.  “It is a great chance to play in front of my home crowd at Kilsyth and to get my first taste of being a part of an NBL team, which is a goal I am working towards at the moment,” said Macmillan.

Macmillan will round out a Tigers roster which includes returning members Tommy Greer, Bennie Lewis, Matt Burston and Lucas Walker as well as newly acquired Chris Goulding from Gold Coast and Nate Tomlinson from Colorado.  This will be the first of two practice games the Tigers play at Kilsyth Sports Centre.  The Tigers will return to Kilsyth on the 31st of August 2012 to tip off against the Wollongong Hawks in another exhibition game before the start of the 2012-13 NBL season.

In addition to seeing Macmillan on the floor and getting a first look at this year’s Tigers, Tuesday’s game against the Washington State Cougars will also feature three Australian players from the Cougars’ line-up who are anxious for their return down under.  Melbourne native Dexter Kernich-Drew of Caulfield Grammar will suit up at guard for the team along with newest addition James Hunter who hails from Sydney.  The team’s third Australian member, Brock Motum, is also their leading scorer and rebounder, averaging 18 point and 6.4 rebounds in their last season.

All the hoop action is set for this Tuesday night at Kilsyth Sports Centre.  Doors open at 6:30pm and tip-off is at 7:30pm.  Tickets can still be purchased by contacting the office at 03 9728 1033.  For more information, please visit www.kilsythbasketball.com.au
