The Club Kilsyth Cobras are set to host the Dandenong Rangers this Sunday afternoon in what will be the team’s second consecutive semi-final appearance. The Club Kilsyth Cobras finished second on the 2012 BVDL table after an amazing start to the season, winning their first ten games straight!

Saturday night saw the Club Kilsyth Cobras host the Knox Raiders in a battle for the top position on the table. Despite strong showings from Arjen Smit (20 points) and Kyle Adnam (16 points, 5 assists) the Club Kilsyth Cobras were edged out by the strong Knox unit, who snatched top position with a seven point victory 73 – 66.

Dandenong finished the 2012 BVDL season in third position with 14 wins and 7 losses. Coincidently, it was the Rangers who handed the Club Kilsyth Cobras their first defeat back in round 10 in a one-point thriller on Hugh McMenamin Court. Dandenong defeated the fourth placed Sandringham last Sunday by 14 points and currently hold the wood over the Club Kilsyth Cobras, defeating them in both their meetings during the regular season.

When asked about the upcoming game, Club Kilsyth Cobras Coach Rod Popp said “It’s great to be hosting Dandenong in what will be a hard fought Semi Final game.”

“The guys have worked hard all season to get to this point and earn this home court advantage during playoffs. We need to make sure that we can take full advantage of it.”

The winner of this Semi Final will progress through to the BVDL Grand Final and play the winner of the other Semi Final between Knox and Sandringham in a fortnight’s time.

The Club Kilsyth Cobras will take on the Dandenong Rangers in a Semi Final showdown this Sunday afternoon with tip-off at 1.30pm on Hugh McMenamin Court.

With the Swinburne Kilsyth Cobras interstate this weekend, all Cobras supporters are encouraged to get down to the Kilsyth Sports Centre this Sunday afternoon to cheer on the Club Kilsyth Cobras!
