The event provides students with a fun way to make new friends, learn about the campuses facilities and prepare them for their first class.

This year’s event featured mechanical bull rides, salsa bands, belly dancers, sword swallowers and a range of Mexican inspired food.

International and exchange students from all over the world also participate in the event. Orientation is often the first chance international students have to experience Australian culture.

International student volunteer, Jessica Stave, found orientation to be “An absolute thrill. The highlight was getting to know all the new faces and being able to help our fellow students.”

First year University students start classes on 1 March.
