Joe Werner led the way with 24 points and 16 rebounds for the Cobras while Glenn Baird had 36 pts and 11rbds for the Gunners.

Kilsyth started well in the first quarter shooting at 50% from the field while hitting 4/7 from behind the arc.  The Cobras went into the first change with a 25-21 lead.

The Gunners got themselves into foul trouble in the 2nd term sending the Cobras to the free throw line on seven occassions where they went 12/13 to blow the game open and take a 14 point half time lead.

Gerard Leonard (20pts) and Quincy Henderson (20pts, 8rbds) both found their range from the 3 point line hitting four 3’s a piece for the game and proving a tough defensive assignment for Canberra.

Chris Cameron was quiet in his return with just 11 pts in 24 minutes on the floor but the Cobras managed to extend the lead again in the 3rd quarter hitting 5/9 threes and 7/7 from the free throw line.

Canberra made a late run in the final term pulling themselves within 12 with 2 minutes to play but the Cobras were able to hold on for the 14 point victory.

Kilsyth had their highest scoring game of the season and got some revenge after the Gunners upset the Cobras in 2008.

The Cobras now make the trip up North to take on the Brisbane Spartans following the Lady Cobras contest Saturday Night (25 April 2009). 

Brisbane defeated the Cobras back in Round Two by 11 points as Chris Goulding went off from behind the arc.  Coach Grant Wallace will be looking for the same balance shown against the Gunners to record the win.

Kilsyth have now moved to 4-3 on the season after winning 3 straight.
