The Dandenong Jayco Rangers will be playing the new defencejobs WNBL team Bendigo Spirit in a Women’s National Basketball League Pre Season match on September 9th tip off at 12.15pm at Kilsyth Basketball in support of the Starlight Children’s Foundation.

Both the Dandenong Jayco Rangers and Kilsyth Basketball agree that the Starlight Children’s Foundation is a wonderful organisation to support. Starlight brighten the lives of seriously ill and hospitalised children, and their families, by delivering innovative programs that restore the fun, laughter and joy that serious illness takes away.

“As athletes you realise that your sport provides you with a wealth of opportunities and life experiences that are out of this world, so it is important to give back to the community through initiatives such as this” commented Emily McInerny Dandenong Jayco Rangers player and Member of World Championship Opals team.

After conducting a number of Development Squad trials in Melbourne and the Gippsland area the Rangers have made it clear that they are serious about developing a pathway for young and up and coming female basketball players in Victoria.  It is important that we create linkages with large and talented Associations like Kilsyth, so we can continue to provide opportunities to play basketball at the highest level.

Game entry is a gold coin donation for the Starlight Children’s Foundation, or further information please contact Kilsyth Basketball on 9728 1033.
