Cobras duo Mitch Dielemans and Luke Rosendale have been named to the VYC All-Star Five.

The pair were honoured at the annual Big-V Awards dinner on Saturday night following standout 2019 campaigns, helping lead the Cobra Men to their third straight postseason appearance.

Dielemans was named to the All-Star Five for the third consecutive season, despite playing in just 10 of the Cobras 22 regular season games due to NBL1 commitments. Dielemans’ production in those ten games was unmatched, though, averaging a league-best 28.5 points per game and adding 4.4 assists per outing, good for third in the league. The Cobras floor general shot a remarkable 89.3 percent from the foul line, also tops in the league, and recorded four 30-plus point outings in 2019, highlighted by 45 and 39 point explosions against Hawthorn.

Rosendale starred in his first season at Kilsyth, leading the VYC in total points scored (382) and finishing third in points per game (18.2ppg) during the regular season. The lefty wing was also among the league’s best playmakers, averaging 4.1 assists per game, and ranked second on the Cobras roster with 6.9 rebounds per game. Rosendale’s play also saw him receive the call up to the Cobras NBL1 squad, appearing in four games during the 2019 season.
