Allan Hancock College sophomore Jonathan Ramirez has earned a spot on the All-Western State Conference Men’s Basketball First Team.

The point guard averaged 11 points a game for the Bulldogs and led the team in assists last season with 90. He also led the team in steals. Teammates Steve Faulkner and Scott Dixon both earned Honorable Mention.

Faulkner averaged 11 points a game. He was the team’s leading rebounder at seven per contest.

Dixon, a freshman, averaged nine points per game and was second to Ramirez on the team with steals.

Hancock coach Ralph Gorton said, “To be recognized by the conference, despite the team having a rough season overall, just shows what a strong player Ramirez is, and how much of a presence he has on the court.”
