LOCK HAVEN – Clarion University forward Courtney Healy is the PSAC-West Women’s Basketball Freshman of the Week for the week ending with games Jan. 31.

Healy (Victoria, Australia) averaged 7.3 points and 5.0 rebounds per game while shooting 61.5 percent from the field (8-for-13) to help lead Clarion to a 2-1 week with a wins over Edinboro and Urbana.

She had seven points, nine rebounds, a blocked shot and two assists in Clarion’s 80-67 win over Edinboro Saturday after recording nine points, four rebounds, two steals and a blocked shot in a 62-48 win over Urbana Monday.

The first international player in Clarion head coach Gie Parsons’ 20 years at the helm of the Golden Eagles, Healy is averaging 4.3 ppg and 5.0 rpg while blocking 21 shots in 15 games.

Clarion (8-11 overall, 2-4 PSAC-West) returns to action at 6 p.m. Wednesday when it hosts Lock Haven.
