Kilsyth Cobra Josh Duach has been named to the Under 16 Australian Boys team, which is set to compete at the FIBA Asia Championships later this year.
An SCYC Scorpions junior, Duach has enjoyed a stellar 12 months on the hardwood, leading Australia to gold at the Under 15 FIBA Oceania Championships and earning All-Tournament Team honours back in December 2018, before helping the Under 18 Victoria Metro Men win gold at the Australian Junior Championships in April this year. A member of the Cobra Under 18-1 Boys, Duach was also named the Junior Cobra Player of the Year earlier this month.
The FIBA Asia Championships serve as a qualifier for next year’s FIBA U17 World Championships, with the top-four teams from the Asia Championships qualifying for the 2020 World Championships in Bulgaria. Dates or venue have yet to be announced for the Asia Championships.
