The focus of the Development League women’s and men’s team is on players younger than 23 years of age. With the D League SEABL members give their players a pathway to move easily from elite junior level competition to elite senior level competition.

For the past three years the Development League Kilsyth Cobras and Lady Cobras have been known as the Workforcexs Kilsyth Cobras and the Workforcexs Lady Cobras, Workforcexs are stepping down as a major sponsor in 2012 but will still be staying on board as a partner of the association.

In 2011 the D-League Kilsyth Cobras finished the season in third position bowing out to Nunawading in the semi-finals, while the D-League Kilsyth Lady Cobras finished the season in fifth position just missing out on play-off action.
