Over the coming week’s representatives from the Phil Munday’s Kilsyth Cobras Junior Girls Program will be identifying players from the Kilsyth & Mountain District Basketball Association (K&MDBA) with the potential to develop exceptional skills, and talent on the basketball court. They will be identifying players, from all age groups, with potential to try out for the Kilsyth Cobras.

The Kilsyth Cobras are the representative teams of the K&MDBA and are made up from the fourteen local domestic clubs who participate in the Association’s competitions.

Each Friday night the Cobras represent the K&MDBA and each of our local domestic clubs with players from Croydon, Ringwood, Mooroolbark, Lilydale, Chirnside Park, Montrose, Mt Evelyn, Kilsyth and throughout the Yarra Valley.

Kilsyth Cobras have developed some exceptional talent over the years including former Australian Opals Jessica Bibby and Belinda Snell. They started playing with a domestic club within the K&MDBA, played for the Kilsyth Cobras and went onto represent Australia while playing in the WNBL.

You too could be the next Jessica Bibby!

All players who are identified will be invited to attend the Kilsyth Cobras Tryouts 9, 11, 14 and 16 October 2011. At these tryouts, players will be competing for a position in a Kilsyth Cobra’s team against other elite players of the K&MDBA from within your age group.

Being selected to play for the Kilsyth Cobras is an honour, as players get to represent the Association, their domestic club and the region against the best players from around Melbourne.

Don’t forget about the 2011 Skills camps which are the best way to prepare for tryouts – these will be held on Tuesday 6, 13 and 20 September for U14 & 16 Girls. U12 Girls will be held on Thursday 8, 15 and 22.
