Kunek has represented Victoria at five National Championships (2005-2009) and will shortly compete at the Under 20 Championships in Gawler, South Australia attempting to win her sixth Title.

An Eltham Junior, she has represented Australia in 29 Games helping the Gems (Australian Under 19 Women’s team) qualify for the 2009 FIBA World Championships.

Kunek is looking forward to a different environment in 2010, “Playing for a different club is exciting and working with new a coach with different ideas and styles is also something I am really looking forward too.”

“Playing with Kilsyth I will learn a lot from the senior players that have signed and the coaching staff. I’m really excited to play with a new group of girls and really eager to learn just like anyone else,” said Kunek.

Kunek is sure to be a versatile player for the Swinburne Lady Cobras in 2010 and will complement those already signed.I will bring a lot of versatility to the team in 2010. Dee Butler is a very experienced point guard and Ellie (Manou) will be great as the team Centre. I will bring a good presence at the 3/4 spot to the team.”

“I will also be able to help a lot of the younger girls, the way the older players have helped me.”

Kunek is excited about what the team can achieve and is expecting success, “My expectation for the team is to be playing finals. I think the coaching staff has recruited very well so we will have a strong group. We will be a hard defensive team and our offence will be created from there. The League is very strong this season so it will be battle every week,” concluded Kunek.

Swinburne Lady Cobras Head Coach Cheryl Chambers is pleased to get another piece of the puzzle signed. “Alice brings youth and energy; she is a strong player who can get to the rack, rebound and run. She is versatile and can guard a small or big.  A bit like Ellie (Manou) she is a player of the future looking to place herself as an elite player in the League.”

“As a team we have got the core of players together and into our pre-season program, with Dee (Butler), Ellie and Alice signed and still to join the group.  With our local youth and experience we can get our game plan together and be exciting to watch. Hopefully we will have our final piece in place over the next couple of weeks,” Chambers concluded.
