Lonon, a 6’ 1”, 170 pound forward from Georgia will add size and strength to the Lady Cobras line up. Following her college career at ETSU, she completed playing stints in Austria and Ireland, workout with teams in Germany and Spain and toured with teams in the USA.

Following her college career Lonon has enjoyed professional basketball, “My strengths are my athletism and feel for the game, college basketball is played with very structured system, I am looking forward to playing within a motion offence”, said Lonon.

Coach Jason Knight is pleased with the addition to the roster, “Jessica will bring a more mature outlook to the team and gives us another blue collar worker around the paint.”

“Jessica makes us a more versatile team than last season and her work ethic and attitude are both first rate.  I think that Jessica will be a real asset to the club and certainly will get better every game she plays with us.”

“Her no frills attitude really underlines the way the Kilsyth women have approached the 2008 season.  With Jessica, Hayley Moffatt and Sarah Parsons we have the makings of a very versatile frontline that will keep all teams honest,” said Knight.

Jessica is excited about her opportunity to play in Australia and is looking for some finals success with the Lady Cobras in 2008, “After my high school success, I haven’t played on an overly successful team so it would be great to make finals in 2008.  I play really aggressive and can bring a lot of spark and fire to the team and I hope I can help motivate my teammates to go for the win.”

The Club Kilsyth Lady Cobras kicked off the 2008 campaign this weekend as they travel to the Apple Isle to take on Launceston and NW Tasmania.
