The K&MDBA won the largest Association for the 16th time in 17 year’s and regained the award after Knox were the 2008 winners.  With the two new courts at the Kilsyth Sports Centre due for completion in mid 2010, growth is again on the cards for the K&MDBA.

Congratulations to all the junior domestic clubs, after school basketball teams and senior domestic teams on winning this important award.

Grant Wallace was the winner of the Jack Carter Memorial Award as the Administrator of the Year for 2009.  Wallace was an instrumental leader for Kilsyth Basketball throughout 2009.  He was heavily involved in the organisation of the April 2009 Basketball Managers Convention and worked tirelessly on the negotiations for the two new courts at the Kilsyth Sports Centre.

Swinburne Kilsyth Lady Cobras Head Coach Cheryl Chambers took out the Female Coach of the Year Award for taking the 2008/09 Bulleen Boomers team to the Grand Final.  Chambers was the 2008/09 WNBL Coach of the Year and signed with Kilsyth in October 2009 as the Swinburne Lady Cobras new Head Coach.

Congratulations to both Grant and Cheryl on winning their individual awards and all those within the Association who have contributed to making the K&MDBA the largest Association in Victoria.
