ALL REMAINING QUEENS OF THE COURT SESSIONS ARE FULL! THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST, BUT WE WILL NOT BE ABLE TO ACCOMMODATE ANY MORE GIRLS FOR THE FINAL SESSIONS.
In a continuous attempt to advance the quality of Basketball in the Yarra Ranges, Kilsyth Basketball has spear-headed a new program to introduce girls to our sport in a fun way. Queens of the Court is an innovative way to introduce girls to the fundamental skills involved with Basketball while also incorporating some off court fun activities. The first of its kind program caters to eight (8), nine (9), and ten (10) year old girls who are looking to learn about Basketball in a more relaxed environment. Queens of the Court will meet on select Friday and Saturday nights and Sunday afternoons and involve a brief clinic skills session followed by a social period where girls can make new friends while participating in activities at Kilsyth Basketball such as a pizza party, movie night or game night.
The intent of Queens of the Court is to help girls advance their basic fundamentals while also developing teamwork skills and confidence which are just as important to the game as ball skills. We hope that through Queens of the Court girls form a positive association with the sport of Basketball and develop a further interest in participation at our Club. All sessions are free to attend, we just ask for advanced notice and a commitment to attend the sessions you register for to allow for appropriate staffing.
Basketball Operations Assistant Andrea Travelstead believes “Queens of the Court is a great opportunity for girls to get an experience with Basketball that is unlike other programs we have had in the past. We wanted to design a program that goes beyond on court skills. With Queens of the Court, girls will enjoy themselves on and off the court and hopefully form a positive relationship with sport.”

All sessions are held at the Kilsyth Sports Centre, Liverpool Road, Kilsyth.
