Kilsyth got off to the worst possible start trailing by 10 points in the opening quarter as Toni Edmondson (18pts, 13rbds) and Lisa Wallbutton (12pts, 10pts) caused problems for the Swinburne Lady Cobras.
Ellie Manou (16pts, 17rbds) lead the Kilsyth fight back during the second quarter as the Lady Cobras fought back to be within four points at the long break.
Alice Kunek (15pts, 11rbds) and Hayley Moffat (14pts, 13rbds) both played every minute of the match and helped spark a Lady Cobras run during the third term. With Gemma Kerr (14pts) hitting from behind the arc Kilsyth managed to build a four point lead going into the final quarter.
With rookie guard Jordy O’Shea (8pts, 5ass) leading the way, the Swinburne Lady Cobras held on in the final term closing out the four point win and remaining in touch with League leaders Launceston at the top of the SEABL table.
Kilsyth out rebounded the Lady Bandits 56-40 while scoring 34 points to 16 in the paint.
The Swinburne Lady Cobras return to action on Saturday 1 May 2010 at the Kilsyth Sports Centre against Sandringham. Tip off is scheduled for 6.15pm.
