The Crazy John’s South Dragons have today announced their pre-season schedule for the 2007-08 NBL season.  The schedule will include a game between the Dragons and New Zealand Breakers at Kilsyth Sports Centre on Thursday 6th September.

It will mark the first time in over 5 years that Kilsyth has hosted a National League event and it will give the basketball community in the Eastern suburbs a chance to catch the Dragons up close and personal before they tip off their regular season on September 22nd.

The Dragons have returned their star Player-Coach in Shane Heal and exiting rookie Joe Ingles for the upcoming season and added exciting imports Cortez Groves and Nick Horvath.  They will take on a team likely to include NBA experienced players including Kirk Penney.

Kilsyth General Manager Dick Thomas said “it is exciting to have the National League back at Kilsyth. South Dragons have done an outstanding job connecting with the community and formed strong partnerships. We look forward to welcoming Shane Heal back to wear he started his career in After School Basketball.”

“We have a renewed focus on the after school basketball competition and through our partnership with ANZ, the Kids First program aims to find the next Shane Heal in one of the local Kilsyth Schools” said Mr. Thomas.

Don’t miss this opportunity to catch the Crazy John’s South Dragons in action.  The Dragons will also be at Kilsyth on August 17th conducting a training session through the ‘Back to the Burbs’ initiative.
