The K&MDBA have worked with technology partner SportingPulse over the past twelve months to develop Stadium Scoring and were thrilled to be the first Association running the new software for their competitions.

Kilsyth Basketball Business Development Manager Ben Turner, who along with Competitions Manager Helen Harris have been involved with the program’s development, and both praised SportingPulse on their latest addition to The Basketball Network.

“SportingPulse have successfully developed an integrated courtside scoring application which is simple to use for administrators, scorers and referees. They have included all the necessary functions of the paper scoresheet while simplifying the scoring process and removing the game data entry requirement for volunteers or administrators,” said Turner.

“Stadium Scoring will benefit both volunteer and employee run Associations while improving the efficiency in data entry for domestic games, tournaments and State Championship competitions such as the VJBL.”

“We anticipate, and are already seeing, a significant time saving for volunteers and administrators which can be redirected into other areas to ensure the ongoing development and growth of our competitions,” concluded Turner.

As well as the obvious benefits for Administrators; players, coaches and parents can now go online to check both game statistics and season averages for players and teams through the Association website.

Stadium Scoring is the latest initiative within Basketball Australia’s comprehensive “The Basketball Network” project – a project which is powering technology at over 80% of Australia’s Basketball Associations. Inspired by the success of SportingPulse’s LiveStats project, and with models like Ten Pin Bowling to draw from, the Stadium Scoring project was originally outlined conceptually over five years ago.

Now, with the FIBA Organizer Project roll out largely complete, Basketball Australia commissioned SportingPulse to take the sport to a new level in Australia, integrating FIBA Organizer, Online Results and remote courtside scoring technologies to bring associations huge benefits, and engage customers in the delivery of scores and results courtside.
