Lilydale campus is opening its doors and inviting the whole community to enjoy a unique Open Day experience. You can speak with staff and students, browse displays, attend info sessions, and explore the brand new student spaces within the Atrium.

Situated in the Yarra Valley, our Lilydale campus offers, university degrees, TAFE qualifications and short courses. Campus features include the Student Village and Mitchell’s View training restaurant.

Tour our facilities

Swinburne’s Lilydale campus is set on a scenic 24-hectare and offers panoramic views across the Lilydale Lake to the Yarra Valley hills. Take a tour and explore the unique campus’s blend of state-of-the-art facilities and rural surrounds. We’ll take you to the brand new student spaces in the Atrium, the on-campus student village, the library and other student hang-outs.

Tours leave regularly from the Atrium throughout the day.

At the Lilydale campus, we’re proud of our region. So to showcase the area we will be hosting a farmer’s market where you can sample and buy fine wines and cheese, watch woodturning demos and buy sculptures, taste and purchase conserves and preserves, stock up on locally made olive oil, buy herbs, plants and trees for the garden, plus much more.

Free basketball clinic with the Kilsyth Cobras

Swinburne is proud to sponsor the Kilsyth Cobras basketball club and are excited to offer primary school-aged kids the chance to participate in a clinic with members of the team. Players will be providing expert coaching tips and giving away prizes to all participants.

Are you ready to take the Health and Human Services challenge?

Build a human body, reassemble a wheelchair, learn where germs are hiding and how they can spread. Together with these demonstrations, this information session will give you an overview of the Certificate III in Health Assistance, Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance, Certificate IV in Disability and the Certificate III in Aged Care.

Hospitality in action

One of Swinburne’s two fully operational training restaurants, Mitchell’s View, is located at the Lilydale campus. At Open Day you can visit the restaurant to watch a demonstration, view a display, find hospitality course information and, of course, enjoy a coffee or a snack.

Automotive demonstrations

Lilydale’s high-tech auto lab will be open throughout the day and you’ll be able to watch automotive computer diagnostic demos or have a tour with one of our experienced teachers.

Visual Art, Design and Multimedia

– an info session for creative minds

Swinburne’s Department of Arts has a longstanding reputation for the quality of its graduates, and maintains valuable industry links, with teaching staff maintaining a significant involvement and practice in the arts. The Visual Art, Design and Multimedia info session will provide an overview of the courses on offer at Lilydale and Wantirna, as well as the application process, course structure and our facilities.

Head to room 418, level 4 in the LC building at 11.00am.

How do you build a roof?

Come to room 227, level 2 in the LB building to see students in action constructing a gable roof. Students and teachers will be on hand to answer any questions about Swinburne’s range of building and construction courses.

Design/Business double degrees at Lilydale

Taken together as a double degree, these two popular disciplines can prepare you for career opportunities in brand and design management.
