Nominations are now open for the Victorian Government’s 2011 Community Sport and Recreation Awards. This is your opportunity to recognise and celebrate the significant contribution made by Victorians in shaping our community sport and recreation landscape.
Victoria is renowned for its sporting culture. Many thousands of community sporting heroes work tirelessly each year to provide opportunities for Victorians to participate in community sport and recreation. Without their support, community sport Victoria simply would not exist.
The Victorian Government’s Community Sport and Recreation Awards recognise and celebrate the significant contribution made by Victorians in shaping our community sport and recreation landscape.
Victorians are encouraged to nominate a club, team, or individual that best epitomise this commitment to community sport and recreation, across the following nine award categories:
- Community Sporting Club of the Year
- Community Participation Award
- Young Sportsperson of the Year
- Senior Sportsperson of the Year
- Service to Sport Award
- Diversity Award
- Local Hero of the Year
- Community Coach of the Year
- Sportsperson of the Year

On-line nominations are simple to complete and provide an opportunity for you to tell the story about your local sporting heroes and for them to be acknowledged for their commitment. There are some great prizes to be won for the award winners and finalists.
