The Swinburne Kilsyth Cobras are excited to have secured Tiri Masunda as the Point Guard for their 2013 SEABL season. Averaging 8.9 points, 2.8 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game, Tiri comes to the Swinburne Cobras from the Hobart Chargers where he has been one of the team’s top performing players in his 119 career SEAL games.

Tiri is looking forward to his move to Melbourne and the Swinburne Cobras saying that he “feels that coming to Kilsyth will be the best option in terms of his own development” He noted that, “Kilsyth are a very professional club, and after initially chatting with Head Coach Grant Wallace and Director of Basketball Operations Rod Popp, as well as flying down to look at the facilities and getting a general feel for the Kilsyth history, it became an association that I could definitely see myself as a part of.

Head Coach Grant Wallace said that “Tiri is a welcome additional to the Cobras line up. “Tiri is an impressive person who will fit into the Kilsyth family well. Tiri is an extremely quick and explosive point guard who very well compliments the roster we have assembled”.

The Swinburne Cobras are looking forward to Tiri joining the SEABL team and are looking forward to a great season with Tiri adding that “the squad that’s being assembled for the upcoming season is one that has the potential to do a lot of damage”.

The Swinburne Kilsyth Cobras officially commence their preseason in mid-January 2013 for their season opener on 17 March 2013.
