SEABL EAST MEN
Returning to Kilsyth for his second season, JOE WERNER has been the standout player in the East Men this year and deserves the Most Valuable Player of the Year Award. With eight first place votes Werner was the over whelming winner of the award defeating last years winner CJ Massingale by 12 votes. Joe finished the season leading the league in rebounds (13.59ppg), fourth in points (21.8ppg), and also fifth in field goal percentage (53.6%).
Kilsyth Cobras Joe Werner was outstanding on Sunday 31st May as he destroyed the Ballarat Miners with a season best 45 points @ 63%, and also recorded 20 rebounds, 2 assists, 3 steals and blocked 3 shots. Werner played 44mins and led the Cobras to a much needed 97-80 win. Werner also recorded 25pts, 9rebs and 3ass on Friday 29th May to help secure the Player of the Week award for round 12.
Kilsyth Cobras forward/centre Joe Werner finished the regular season in fine style guiding his team to a 5-1 record. Werner averaged 24.8pts, 14.8rebs and 2ass for the month of July. Joe finished the regular season with a sensational individual performance at Ballarat with 24pts, 18rebs, 5ass and 2blks in 41mins. Werner recorded a double double in each game during July and started the month with a 32pt, 26rebs performance in the Cobras 83-75 victory against arch rival Knox.

D LEAGUE WOMEN
ED DUNSTAN has been involved with Kilsyth Cobras for well over 15 years, and has coached at every level of the game. Dunstan guided the Lady Cobras to fourth place this year with a 12-6 regular season record only to lose to Nunawading in the Semi Finals. Dunstan has been a key contributor in the development of the girls program in Kilsyth, having spent 10 years with the SEABL Championship program as a head coach or Assistant coach.
