Mid-Week Hoops: Cobras host Hawks in Thursday NBL1 Home Showdown

It's a School Holiday special at home, as your Kilsyth Cobras take on the Ringwood Hawks in a Thursday Night NBL1 showdown.

A huge round 3 of the NBL1 season wraps-up for the Kilsyth Cobras on Thursday night, as they host to the Ringwood Hawks in a local showdown at home.

The Cobras return home following the 'Tassie Double' roadtrip, with the Cobra Women going a perfect 2-0 on the road in impressive fashion, while the Men fell short against Hobart, and suffered a crushing defeat on a buzzer beater three pointer against the NW Tasmania Thunder, in an early candidate for the game of the season.

With a road-heavy schedule to start the season, the Cobras will welcome being back on home court behind a raucous home crowd, in what promises to be a pair of high quality games against two talented Hawks squads. Title contenders last season, the Ringwood Women pose a significant challenge to coach Mark Watkins  group, but the Cobras enter with significant momentum following their standout road weekend, which saw them take significant strides on both sides of the floor. With import Abby O'Connor off to a stellar start to the season, the Cobras have found an elite wing to pair with rising star Nikita Young, while Paige Price and Shannon Dufficy have also provided terrific versatility in the frontcourt.

The Cobra Men take some promising signs from their weekend down south into Thursday night's game, as they received big contributions from youngsters Hamish MacDonald and Macauley Haig off the bench, with the duo providing strong depth behind stars Corey Jeffs, Dillon Stith, and Khadim Sy. Adi Tomada flashed his strong playmaking ability once again, and is set for a key matchup with talented Hawks guards, Johnathon Lawton and Harrison Sealy. The Hawks have a made some significant roster additions in the past 14 days, signing quality NBL wings, Tanner Krebs and Angus Glover, giving the Hawks a formidable perimeter attack.

With talent galore set to be on display, this is a home double you do not want to miss. The Women tip-off proceedings at 6:30pm, followed by the Men at 8:30pm. Tickets on sale now via Intix.
