The Rivalry Reignites Saturday: Cobras vs Raiders headlines NBL1 Heritage Round

One of Australia's greatest and longest standing rivalries reignites on Saturday night, with your Kilsyth Cobras taking on the Knox Raiders to headline NBL1 Heritage Round.

The Cobras/Raiders decades old rivalry is like no other, with two of the nations largest and most storied associations battling it out on the big stage once again.

The Cobra Men enter with a 7-5 record, finding themselves in the thick of the playoff mix and just a game behind the 8-4 Raiders. It’s a contrast in rosters, with the Raiders boasting one of the leagues most talented lineups, featuring an abundance of international and NBL talent, while the Cobras will once again roll into Saturday night with heavy home grown representation, with nine players set to suit up having come through the Junior Domestic and Cobra pathways.

The Cobra Women enter the week with a 4-8 record, but have been right there with some of the league’s best, having pushed the first placed Sandringham Sabres the distance on Sunday before falling just short in the final minute. They’ll face the reigning-champion Raider Women who currently sit fifth with an 8-4 record of their own, featuring much of last year’s title winning core.

The league’s fiercest rivalry is set to excite again on Saturday, with a throwback feel as part of the league’s Heritage Round festivities. Your Cobras will once again be rocking their throwback 90’s uniforms, and another round of special edition Mitchell & Ness x Cobra tees are on sale too.

It's an unmatched energy and atmosphere at home when these two meet, so get your tickets now for this must see event.
