High flying Kilsyth junior Hamish MacDonald has re-signed with the Cobras for the 2024 NBL1 season.

MacDonald returns to the Cobras lineup for a third season, giving the Kilsyth front court an injection of speed, athleticism and versatility on the defensive end. The SEBC Saints junior was one of the Cobras top rounders on a per minute basis in 2023, using his elite athleticism to clean the glass and finish above the rim – often in spectacular fashion. MacDonald recorded season-highs of eight points and nine rebounds in 26 minutes vs the Diamond Valley Eagles in Round 9, proving he can impact the game on both ends when opportunity presents.

The 22 year old was also a key contributor to the VYC Cobras roster in 2023, joining the team mid-season alongside his NBL1 duties. His strong front court play helped the Cobras secure the league’s second best regular season record, and led them to a berth in the VYC Championship game.

With an abundance of upside, MacDonald joins the trio of Deng Riak, Nick Feller and import Bryce Davis as versatile, multi-positional big men with diverse skillsets – a common theme throughout the Cobras roster.
