The combination of Garrick and Beadle was simply unstoppable on Sunday, with the pair combining for 51 points and 20 rebounds as the Lady Cobras defeated Ballarat, 80-55. Garrick finished with a game-high 26 points to go along with nine rebounds, while Beadle added 25 points and 11 boards, with the duo almost outscoring the entire Rush lineup in the win.

Early on it was Garrick leading the charge for Kilsyth, with the Lady Cobras sharpshooter erupting for 13 opening quarter points as her team took a 23-19 lead after 10 minutes of play. Their four point lead would blow out to 15 at halftime, with Beadle spearheading a game-breaking run as she scored 10 points during a 21-10 burst by the Lady Cobras during the second quarter to put the game out of reach.

Kilsyth kept pouring it on in the second half, with Garrick, Emily Fryters, Sarah Parsons and Chantella Perera leading a 15-2 run to close the third period, giving the Lady Cobras a 31 point lead heading into the final stanza. The Lady Cobras would cruise the rest of the way, with their impressive road win moving their record to 8-2 on the season.

While Beadle has carried the load in the frontcourt early in 2017, she received some big time help on Sunday from Parsons and Fryters. Parsons scored six points and dished a game-high seven assists off the bench, while Fryters pulled down nine rebounds – including five on the offensive end – and played a key role in the Lady Cobras defensive domination in the paint. Kilsyth won the rebound count, 46-27, while doubling up the Rush on points in the paint, 44-22.

Since their hiccup at home against Nunawading on April 22, Sam Woosnam’s team has reeled-off four straight victories, with their past two road wins coming by a combined 46 points.

The Lady Cobras are back on the road on Friday night, when they travel interstate to take on the Sydney Uni Sparks. They’ll return home on Sunday to take on Bendigo for a SEABL Doubleheader with the Cobra Men, with tip-off scheduled for 12.00pm.
