This will be Riley’s second National Championship event, after officiating at the U/16 National Championships in 2012. She was unable to attend in 2013 due to other work commitments.

Riley has been a referee at Kilsyth Basketball since 2005. Many of our referees have either officiated with Riley or worked on Saturday morning sessions when Riley has worked as a Supervisor. She has had a guiding hand in the careers of many of Kilsyth’s referees in their formative years after they graduated from referee school and hit the courts on Junior Boys competitions.

Riley now officiates on the SEABL/Big V National Senior Panel, along with our Championship Men’s referee panel at Kilsyth on Monday nights, honing her skills at 3 person officiating in preparation for the U/18 National Championships, and the day, not too far off, when she is invited to referee on the SEABL men’s roster.

Recently Riley was selected to referee the Victorian Youth Championship Men’s Grand Final at Diamond Valley.

Also adding to her preparation for a future in officiating, Riley formed part of the 3 person referee crew on the Kilsyth Vs New Mexico Lobos NCAA men’s game in August 2013.
