Kilsyth Junior Sarah Haberfield has re-signed with the Cobras for the 2023 NBL1 season.

Haberfield was again a key defensive presence for the Cobras in 2022, ranking fourth on the team in steals (1.3spg) while routinely handling top perimeter defensive assignments. The SEBC Saints junior enjoyed a number of standout moments in 2022; she recoded a season-high four steals – along with a season-best 12 points – in an impressive road win over the Hobart Chargers in Round 3, while her 10-point, two-steal, two-block defensive masterpiece against Melbourne on June 25 led the Cobras to a thrilling home win over the Tigers.

One of two remaining players from the Cobras 2019 championship winning team, Haberfield’s has shown a knack for making key plays in big moments, and also took significant strides in her point guard play to become a multi-positional threat on both ends of the floor. And coupled with her hard-nosed defence and leadership, head coach Hannah Lowe believes the return of Haberfield is a significant addition to the Cobras roster for the 2023 season.

“A long time Cobra and such a hard worker, we are thrilled to have Sarah back in the group for 2023,” Lowe said.

“Sarah has been and continues to be a fantastic leader for Kilsyth on and off the court.”
