This Saturday night sees the Swinburne Kilsyth Lady Cobras host the Knox Raiders in the Women’s South Conference Grand Final. The winner of Saturday night’s game heads to the SEABL Championship game to be played at the State Basketball Centre on Saturday 8 September.

The Swinburne Lady Cobras are coming off a well-earned bye, after they beat the Knox Raiders a fortnight ago in the South Conference Semi Final at the State Basketball Centre. The Swinburne Lady Cobras came out six point victors over their fancied opponent Knox Raiders in a close, highly contested match. Centre Kristen Barnes led all scorers for the game with 18-points, whilst also managing nine rebounds, followed closely by Hayley Moffatt (15 points, 9 rebounds) and Gemma Kerr (11 points, 4 assists) in the win.

After finishing atop the South Conference, the Raiders have now lost home court advantage and are coming off yet another competitive game against the Nunawading Spectres last Saturday night. The Raiders walked off the court with a four-point victory in what was a close Preliminary Final. Post player, Amy Denson, finished the game with a stunning 17 points and 17 rebounds, whilst Odette Andrew also tallied 17 points.

They Swinburne Kilsyth Lady Cobras will also be celebrating SEABL game 250 of veteran guard Gemma Kerr as they look to repeat their Semi Final effort and take the game right to the Knox Raiders in front of a vocal Kilsyth home crowd this coming Saturday.
