After a week of this Saturday night sees the Workforcexs D-League Kilsyth Cobras take on Bendigo at Bendigo Stadium.
The Workforcexs Lady Cobras (7-4) are currently sitting third on the ladder after their three point win against Frankston almost two weeks ago, they come up against a Bendigo Lady Braves (3-8) side that have lost their past four games and who have only won three games for the season so far. However one of those three wins was a 14 point win against Kilsyth.
Sam Dresher has been outstanding for Kilsyth so far this season averaging 15.6ppg, 11.7rpg and 1.6apg however if Sam is contained then it appears that the Workforcexs Lady Cobras struggle to come away with the win. Bendigo will need to play a tight defensive game to limit Dresher’s productivity if they wish to rebound from their 25 point loss to Knox last round.
The Workforcexs Lady Cobras on the other hand need to show that they are not reliant on the form of Sam and will be able to match it with Knox come Sunday afternoon.
The Workforcexs Lady Cobras tip off at 6.00pm Saturday June 18 against Bendigo at Bendigo Stadium.
The Workforcexs Kilsyth Cobras (7-4) face a Bendigo (2-9) side who are struggling to find form having lost their previous six games. Kilsyth on the other hand defeated Frankston by eight points and are looking to consolidate their position in second place on the ladder.
Last round Bendigo almost defeated Knox, going down by six points a feat not to many other teams have been able to accomplish this year but then were unable to back up on the Sunday against Frankston, beaten by 11 points.
Kilsyth will need to watch out for Matthew Bartlett (18.2ppg) and Chris Adkins (13ppg, 7rpg) if they want to ensure that they extend Bendigo’s losing streak. For the Workforcexs Cobras, Zacharias Taulien (12.8ppg, 4.5rpg) has been showing form of late that shows why he is off to college this August at West Virginia.
Will Sinclair is also back this round after returning from Europe with the Australian Under 19 Emus Team and will hopefully bring some of his international experience to the game this Saturday night.
The Workforcexs Cobras tip off at 8.00pm Saturday June 18 against Bendigo at Bendigo Stadium.
