Twelve of Kilsyth Basketball’s Junior Domestic players, coaches, volunteers, officials and clubs have taken home major accolades at the 2018 Junior Domestic Awards Dinner on Monday night.

 

The annual awards evening, hosted by Club Kilsyth, paid tribute to the outstanding performances and contributions from some of the associations best over the past 12 months, with Male and Female Coach, Player, Referees of the Year announced, in addition to a number of other major awards.

 

Highlighting the award winners were the Eastern Eagles, who were named the 2018 Club of the Year, while the newly-formed Yarra Glen Venom were honoured for the Largest Membership Increase in 2018. Declan Taylor (MLBC Lakers) was the recipient of the 2018 Community Engagement Award for his tireless work with youth athletes, Matt Bass was named Volunteer of the Year for his contribution to the SCYC Scorpions.

 

On court, Darcy Hamilton and Cayden Maki were named the Female and Male Referee of the Year, respectively, while Julia Ruckert and Mark Fowler were named the Women’s and Men’s Coach of the Year. Tasha Holly and Bailey Dumbrell were honoured as the Under 12-14 Girls and Boys Player of the Year, while Jasmine Jackson (U16 to U21) and Connor Walker (U15 to U21) took home the final Girls and Boys Player of the Year awards.
