The NBL1 Cobra Women have made a huge in-season addition to their roster, signing star US import Alisia Jenkins for the remainder of the season.

Jenkins gives Kilsyth an explosive front court weapon on both ends of the floor, bringing elite athleticism, slashing, rebounding, and on ball defence to the Cobra lineup.

The Statesboro, Georgia native joins the Cobras following a training camp stint in the WNBA with the Washington Mystics, and a spectacular in Israel and the Eurocup with Hamat Hasharon. Jenkins led boasted impressive numbers of 20.0 points, 11.8 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 2.0 steals per game during the 2022-23 Israel Division 1 and Eurocup seasons, highlighted by 31-point, 17-rebound, 5-assist explosion against Crvena Zvezda.

Prior to Jenkins’ time in Israel, the forward/centre starred in the NBL1 North with the Mackay Meterorettes – alongside Cobra Alexa Hart – almost mirroring her Eurocup stats as she led Mackay to a playoff berth in 2022. Jenkins finished the 2022 season among the league leaders in scoring, rebounding and steals – with the complete package on display as she recorded season-highs of 32 points and five steals – to go along with 13 boards – against the Northside Wizards on July 16.

Jenkins’ impressive hoops resume also includes short stops with the Indiana Fever, Chicago Sky, Phoenix Mercury and New York Liberty in the WNBA, and time in Spain, China, Czech Republic, Finland, and Hungary. And with a wealth of international experience and success under her belt, Cobras head coach Hannah Lowe believes Jenkins is the perfect fit for her roster.

“Alisia is a versatile forward who brings both defensive and offensive firepower to our line up,” Lowe said.

“She is familiar with the Australian style play and also has experience at the WNBA level, and we are very excited to add her to the Cobra line up.”

Jenkins will make her season debut on Saturday night at home for Retro Night against the Casey Cavaliers.
