The Lady Cobras enter the weekend on a nine-game win streak and boast a league-best 13-2 record this season. Coach Sam Woosnam’s team continued their hot streak with a resounding road victory last weekend, despite being without the services of Maddie Garrick (Australian Opals commitments), Emily Fryters (injury), Rosie Moult (injury) and Brittany Renton (personal). Angela Beadle (20.7ppg/9.3rpg) and Chantella Perera (13.4ppg/3.5apg) had no troubles shouldering the offensive load, though, with the pair proving to be extremely difficult to stop in 2017.

Albury-Wodonga enters with a 3-10 record, which sees them currently sitting at the bottom of the East Conference standings. The Bandits have been competitive in their losses, though, and have some talented offensive weapons with Adijat Adams, Emma Mahady and Toccara Ross all averaging over 13 points per contest.

With Garrick, Fryters and Renton set to miss Sunday’s game, the Lady Cobras will be boosted by the return of Moult, who will make her season debut after missing the past 10 months with an achilles injury. While Moult will give the Lady Cobras a big lift on the perimeter, the likes of Beadle, Perera, Jordyn O’Shea and Sarah Parsons will need to continue their efficient play of late if they hope to lead Kilsyth to a tenth straight win.

The Cobra Men continued their late season resurgence with an impressive 22 point road win over Melbourne last weekend for their second consecutive victory. With their record now sitting at 7-10, the Cobras have pulled to within 1.5 games of Albury-Wodonga in the East standings for the conference’s fourth and final playoff position. Coach Justin Schueller’s offence has taken off during the past two games, thanks to the dynamic play of new signing, Daniel Dillon (20.5ppg/7.0rpg/5.5apg).

The Bandits enter the weekend with an 8-8 record, after dropping a pair of road games to Hobart and NW Tasmania last weekend. Despite their struggles in Round 12, the Bandits have been red-hot on the offensive end, averaging 100ppg in their three games prior to their Tasmanian trip. They are led by import Antone Robinson (23.3ppg/14.3rpg) and veteran guard Deba George (19.6ppg/5.6rpg/7.2rpg), while Mitchell Newton and James Terrell (combined 28.3ppg) give the Bandits some dangerous firepower on the perimeter.

The battle down low between Robinson and the Cobras Chris Patton and Auryn Macmillan will be key, but the marquee match-up in this one will be between Dillon and George at the point guard position. If Dillon can continue his hot start and generate easy baskets for the rest of the Cobras, Kilsyth has a chance to close the gap on the Bandits in the East standings.
