The NBL1 Cobra Men have made a key in-season addition, signing import forward Chris Galbreath for the remainder of the season.

Galbreath gives the Cobras front court a significant scoring and rebounding boost, with the 6’7 forward boasting an impressive off-the-bounce game and ability to finishing in a variety of ways around the rim. Able to play multiple positions, the Chicago, Illinois native is able to bang down low against small defenders and stretch the floor against slower bigs, with his ability to shoot from the perimeter, play in the midrange, and get to the hoop making him a potential matchup nightmare for the Cobras.

Galbreath enjoyed a standout collegiate career at Sam Houston State University, averaging 14.8 points and 8.0 rebounds per game during his senior season as he earned All-Southland Conference First Team honors. Galbreath played a vital role in leading the Bearkats to the Southland Conference Tournament Championship game, and an appearance in the National Invitation Tournament (NIT). Galbreath has since spent time playing in Vietnam and Romania – including a stint with CSM Galati in the Romanian Division A competition.

With season-ending injuries to starters Corey Jeffs and Tim Lang, the timing of Galbreath’s arrival couldn’t be better, as he looks to fill the void left by two of head coach Pete Godfrey’s most valuable veterans. The Cobras currently sit just two games out of playoff position, with the addition of Galbreath putting Kilsyth in position for a late playoff run. Galbreath is set to make his debut tonight against the Mt Gambier Pioneers in the NBL1 South Game of the Week, which will be streamed live on Kayo Sports Freebies.
