VYC Cobras Josh Duach, Georgia Booth and Mariah Derksen have been named to the Victorian U20 State Teams ahead of the U20 National Championships in May.
Duach and Booth will travel to Mackay, Queensland, for the Australian Championships, alongside VYC Men’s head coach, Zach Moult, who will serve as an assistant coach for the Victorian Navy Men’s team. Derksen has been named an emergency for the Victorian Navy team.
Booth and Derksen – both SEBC Saints juniors – have been instrumental in the VYC Women’s hot start to the 2021 Big-V season, helping the Cobras go 4-0 over the first three rounds of play. Duach’s (SCYC Scorpions) inclusion in the Victorian Men’s team comes following selection to the Australian Under 19 squad. This will be Duach’s fourth straight state team selection and Booth’s third since 2018.
The U20 Australian Championships will run from May 3-7 in Mackay, Queensland.
