Dunstan finishes his career as one of Kilsyth’s most influential and successful coaches within the Women’s program at both the Junior and Senior level. Dunstan had led the VYC Women – formerly known as the SEABL D-League and VBL – since 2008, during which time he was also the lead coach for the Under 16, 18 and 20’s Girls programs.

Prior to his time at the helm of the VYC program, Dunstan served as both a Head Coach and Assistant Coach with the Kilsyth Lady Cobras in the SEABL from 1995-2006. He had two stints as SEABL Head Coach; from 1999-2001 and 2004-2005, claiming three Coach of the Month awards and leading the Lady Cobras to the 1999 National Semi Finals.

During his time with the SEABL Women’s program, Dunstan also led the VBL (formerly VBA) Women’s team to championships in 1999 and 2002, while also collecting two Coach of the Year awards during his five year tenure.

But after more than two decades of dedicated service to the Club, Dunstan, an inaugural Kilsyth Basketball Hall of Fame inductee, has decided that the time is right for him to step away from the game.

“Now feels like the right time for me to retire,” Dunstan said.

“Kilsyth has been great to me for so many years and I appreciate the opportunities that I’ve had during my time here.”

While his coaching resume is impressive to say the least, Dunstan leaves behind a legacy of sincerity, humbleness and genuine care for each player he came in contact with. Kilsyth Basketball would like to thank Ed for his tireless contributions and wish him well with his future endeavours.
