Promising young point guard Georgia McBean has re-signed with the Kilsyth Cobras for the 2024 NBL1 season.

McBean impressed as the youngest player on the Cobras roster last season, delivering steady point guard production off the bench at just 17 years of age. McBean joined the Cobra lineup for the final 14 games of 2023, seeing her minutes and production steadily increase late in the season. The crafty point guard recorded season-highs of 12 points, five rebounds and three assists, in a Round 14 road win over the Melbourne Tigers, and earned valuable crunch time experience as she was called upon to produce in a number late game situations.

McBean was a member of the Cobra U18-1 Girls team in 2023, helping lead the team to a top-four finish in the state alongside now-NBL1 Women’s head coach, Mark Watkins. Her standout junior play saw her earn the starting point guard spot for the Victorian Metro Women, as they too earned a top-four finish at the U18 National Championships in April. With junior national championship and NBL1 experience under her belt, coupled with two years in coach Watkins system as a junior, McBean is set for a big season ahead as the young Cobras floor general.
