Schueller is the current Basketball Victoria Country High Performance Coach, a position he will continue to hold whilst coaching at Kilsyth. He was an Assistant Coach for the Australian Under 17 Men’s team which recently competed at the FIBA World Championships in Spain, and was an Assistant for the same team that claimed Silver at the 2014 World Championships.

“The club is excited to have Justin head our Senior Men’s program,” Manager of Basketball Operations Mark Watkins said.

“He brings a wealth of experience with the current trends in both the Domestic and International game.”

“His style of coaching will compliment the current group of Homegrown players that we have and hopefully help take them to the next level.”

Schueller has also spent time as a Head Coach at the Tasmanian Institute of Sport, the Australian FIBA Oceania Youth Men’s team, and the North Adelaide Rockets in the Central ABA.

With longtime Coach Ed Dunstan announcing his retirement, Brett Spicer has been appointed as VYC Women’s Head Coach for the 2017 season. Spicer is the current Under 18/1 Girls Head Coach and has served as a long time Coach in the Junior Cobras program. He also spent time as VYC Women’s Head Coach with the Nunawading Spectres.

Both the SEABL Men and VYC Women missed out on postseason play by a single game in 2016, giving Schueller and Spicer positive pieces to build with in 2017.
