Pete Godfrey is returning to lead the Kilsyth Cobra NBL1 Men for the 2024 season.

Godfrey returns to lead the Cobras for a fourth season, having accumulated an impressive 34-23 record over his first three years at the helm of the NBL1 Men’s program. After advancing to the Preliminary Finals in 2022, the Cobras narrowly missed out on a second straight playoff berth in 2023 as they were dealt with a myriad of injuries.

Opening 2023 with an impressive 4-0 start, Godfrey’s team lost star wing Corey Jeffs and veteran centre Tim Lang to season ending knee injuries soon after. Despite suffering a number of agonisingly close losses, the undermanned Cobras were still in playoff contention with two games remaining in the season.

And though they missed out on a playoff berth, Godfrey’s team – made up primarily of home grown Cobra juniors – proved that they could match it with the league’s best, having defeated three of the league’s top four teams in convincing fashion.

Now with an offseason to retool and heal, Godfrey and co. looked primed to return to title contention in 2024.
