Veteran wing Ben Ursich has re-signed with the Kilsyth Cobras for the 2024 NBL1 season.

Ursich was a key contributor to the Cobras once again in 2023, averaging 8.7 points and 4.7 rebounds per game, while ranking third on the team in three point makes (30) and percentage (35.3 3FG%). The Maroondah Magic junior eclipsed the 20 point mark on three separate occasions in 2023, including a season-high 22-point outing on the road against the Bendigo Braves in Round 5.

The 6’7 wing surpassed the 100 game NBL1/SEABL milestone last season, providing the Cobras with a calming veteran presence both on and off the court. Ursich’s ability to shoot the three at a high rate and elite off ball cutting, coupled with his quick hands, length, and smarts on the defensive end, have established him as a high calibre two-way player in the NBL1’s South Conference, with the veteran swingman continuing to produce as he enters his seventh season with the Cobras.

Set to be the team’s most experienced athlete on opening night, Ursich’s leadership and high-IQ play are invaluable to the Kilsyth roster, one that will feature an injection of youth, playmaking and athleticism in 2024. And with a history of winning and stepping up in big games, Ursich’s experience and leadership may very well be featured late in the year for a deep postseason run.
