Youth League Men, Kilsyth VS Nunawading
Kilsyth came out in the first quarter shooting at just 31% from the field while Nunawading was shooting 38%, Kilsyth could not keep up with them and then lost the first quarter 18-23.
The second quarter was a much better quarter for the Cobras who shot 47% and brought Nunawading’s lead back to just the one point at the half time break, Kilsyth ended up winning the quarter 26-22 to go into the half 44-45.
The 3rd quarter was close with the lead changing many times until Nunawading just got the edge at the end to take out the quarter by just the 1 point and increase their lead to 2 points going into the final break.
The final quarter was an inspirational one for Kilsyth who came out desperate to get the win, Kilsyth had a great final quarter holding Nunawading to 23 points while scoring 32 points themselves and to end up taking out the victory 97-90.
Joel Naburgs was the high scorer hitting 27 points for Kilsyth to go along with 7 rebounds and Adam Dixon shot 22 and also got 7 rebounds to get the Cobras a great come from behind victory.
Kilsyth VS Nunawading Youth League Women
Kilsyth started off the 1st quarter in the worst way possible shooting just 7% from the field and letting Nunawading take out the first quarter on a high and with a big lead 23-7.
With the first quarter behind them and hoping for a new start the Cobras came out shooting much better shooting 40% in the second and pegging back the lead from 16 to 10 with the scores at half time 30-40.
The Cobras needed something in this quarter to be able to make a run for the win in the final quarter and they did, keeping Nunawading to just 9 points in the quarter and scoring 15 themselves to bring them back with a shot for the win in the final quarter down 49-45.
The final quarter was a close one all the way with the game going down to the wire Kilsyth outscored Nunawading again but it wasn’t enough after the first quarter fade out to bring them back to get the win, Nunawading took out the game with a win 65-62.
Brittany White was the only Cobra in double figures with 14 and Brooke Nisi and Laura Gebbing both had 9 points in the Cobras loss.
