After signing with the Perth Lynx early in 2007, her contract was revoke when Lynx coach Paul O’Brien was sacked pre-season.  The situation left Parsons out in the cold and without a WNBL roster spot for 2007-08. In the same spirit and intensity that she plays, Parsons put the disappointment behind her and changed her focus onto the Kilsyth Lady Cobras 2008 SEABL campaign.

As a young up and coming star Parsons had a consistent 2007 SEABL Season, but more was needed if she was to realise her WNBL aspirations.  Season 2008 was the time to let the WNBL know she was ready.  Averaging 13.2 points, 10 rebounds and 4.9 assists including two triple-doubles (10 or more of points, rebounds & assists) and 11 double-doubles, Parsons with duo Clare Papavs led the Lady Cobras to the 2008 SEABL title.

Following the Season, SEABL recognised her success with the Golden Hands and Defensive Player of the Year Awards. Lady Cobras’ teammate Desiree Glaubitz, a former SEABL Golden Hands award winner, is already a WNBL star with the Boomers and Parsons will look to pick up a few tips on how to continue her career from the experienced veteran.

Parsons is excited about that the opportunity of joining the Boomers but knows the hard work starts now.  “Last year’s situation was disappointing but made me work harder on my game.”

“Coach Cheryl Chambers and the Bulleen Boomers Club have provided me a wonderful opportunity to play in the WNBL.  We have a quality roster for the upcoming season and I am looking forward to the challenge of earning a regular place in the rotation.”

“The Lady Cobras program and success in the SEABL has helped me to elevate my game and prepare me for one of the world’s top Leagues, the WNBL,” said Parsons.

Bulleen begin their 2008-09 campaign against another former Cobra Jessica Bibby and her Canberra Capitals on Sunday 5 October 2008, with tip off scheduled for 2.00pm at the Veneto Club in Bulleen.
